OFFICIAL: Juventus agree €9.5m deal for Bentancur

The 19-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Serie A champions having undergone a medical earlier this month

Rodrigo Bentancur will join Juventus from next season after the Serie A champions agreed an initial €9.5million fee with Boca Juniors.

The 19-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the Turin giants and will officially become a Juve player on July 1, bringing his two-year spell as a first team player at Boca to an end.

Bentancur is a product of the Boca youth system and the Argentine club negotiated 50 per cent of any future transfer fees Juve receive for the Uruguayan playmaker as part of the deal.

The initial fee could rise "given conditions based on a certain number of official games played by the player", Juve confirmed.

Nicknamed 'Lolo', Bentancur joined Boca at the age of 14 and made his first-team debut in April 2015, aged just 17.

The versatile teenager has made 17 appearances in the Argentine Primera Division this season and he has played eight times for Uruguay Under-20s, scoring once.
