  Men of the Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Cross River State Police Command shot dead wanted criminal identified as Stephen Etim Edet at Moore road in Calabar on Wednesday morning, April 19. The deceased, a member of a notorious robbery gang that has been terrorizing the city for years was escaped with his men following a foiled robbery attack at a housing estate. Mc Galaxy's song 'Sekem' featured in Disney pictures movie, Queen of Katwe

Mc Galaxy hit a deal with Disney pictures and ESPN as his song 'Sekem' is featured as one of the soundtracks in new Hollywood movie 'Queen of Katwe'. Sekem attracted WALT DISNEY RECORDS, a division of ABC, INC.  for use in connection with the soundtrack album for the movie “Queen of Katwe.” which stars Lupita Nyong'o, David Oyelowo and many other Hollywood actors. Mc Galaxy Sekem will be joining Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys' 'Back to Life' song  on the project. Mc galaxy's song,Sekem, which was never nominated, recognised or bagged for any award has attracted international producers like Swizz Beatz to do a remix of the song. 1000 applicants jostle for 135 teaching jobs in Lagos

No fewer than 1,000 applicants have applied for employment in the State Universal Basic Education Board Federal Teachers Scheme in Lagos. The Head, Public Relations of SUBEB, Mr Seyi Akitoye, on Tuesday said that the board were still receiving more applications even after the November 24 deadline. Akitoye said only 500 applicants would be shortlisted in Lagos out of which 135 teachers would be recruited by the Universal Basic Education Council in Abuja. He said that the names of those shortlisted in Lagos would be forwarded to Abuja for final screening. Akitoye said that UBEC would conduct the screening and test to select 135 successful applicants out of the 500 names that were shortlisted from Lagos State.
