Messi & Barcelona left fuming by incredible missed goal error

Lionel Messi and his Barcelona team-mates were left apoplectic after the Argentine scored a goal that never was against Valencia on Sunday.
The Argentine had already started celebrating in the first half at Mestalla after his shot had eluded the grasp of goalkeeper Neto.

Valencia's No. 1 let a seemingly innocuous effort slip past him, and despite scurrying back was unable to stop the ball bouncing over the line.
Messi's celebrations were cut short, however, when it became apparent the goal was not going to be given and play continued.

There was little doubt that the whole ball had crossed the line, as images from the match clearly showed.
And when the ball finally went out of play referee Iglesias Villanueva was surrounded by furious Barca players incensed at the mistake.

It is not the first time Barca have fallen victim to such an error this season.
Against Betis earlier this season a similar goal was not given despite the ball crossing the line — is it time for a VAR revolution in La Liga?

Trump picks trade fight with Canada

Trade tensions spiked between Washington and Ottawa on Tuesday as President Donald Trump accused Canada of being "very rough" on America and threatened to retaliate against restrictions on US dairy products. Trump also touted his administration's surprise decision late Monday to rekindle an old trade conflict with America's second-largest trading partner by slapping new tariffs on Canadian softwood lumber. 1000 applicants jostle for 135 teaching jobs in Lagos

No fewer than 1,000 applicants have applied for employment in the State Universal Basic Education Board Federal Teachers Scheme in Lagos. The Head, Public Relations of SUBEB, Mr Seyi Akitoye, on Tuesday said that the board were still receiving more applications even after the November 24 deadline. Akitoye said only 500 applicants would be shortlisted in Lagos out of which 135 teachers would be recruited by the Universal Basic Education Council in Abuja. He said that the names of those shortlisted in Lagos would be forwarded to Abuja for final screening. Akitoye said that UBEC would conduct the screening and test to select 135 successful applicants out of the 500 names that were shortlisted from Lagos State.
